The sun is shining and the water is warming up! It’s time to pack the car and get out and enjoy all that Lambton County has to offer this summer season. Summer is now in full swing and there are so many great events to enjoy in beautiful Blue Water country.
Kicking off next weekend is the Bluewater Anglers Family Fun Derby at Centennial Park. This is a free fishing derby for families. All fishing is free on this weekend. (No License required) You fish as a family and if your children have brought friends, they will be counted as part of your family for the derby. There will even be prizes for the most gobies caught!
Get ready for the St. Clair River Run on July 16th. It is a 10K, 5K and Kids Run that winds along the beautiful St Clair River. Adults and kids from all over the County flock to the river for a fun day of live music and healthy exercise. This really is one of the county’s hidden gems.
On July 29th head further up river to Corunna for Captain Kidd Days! A fun-filled weekend of food booths, beer gardens, two-pitch and volleyball tournaments, inflatables and contests for kids. As well as a stacked line-up of live entertainment! Any Eric Ethridge fans out there?
The fun doesn’t stop in August. There will be plenty of husk shuckin’ and family fun going down at the Watford Cornfest on August 5th-7th. First Friday always comes alive in the summer months with more live music and a great downtown vibe. The power boat races roll into Sarnia on the weekend of August 12th-13th and to top it all off the Festival of Good Things, a festival of good food, beer and music rounds out the summer on Labour Day weekend at Canatara Park.
