5 Reasons to get outside this season

With the last leaves of autumn falling, the holiday season is now upon us. The fresh brisk air and falling snow really make you want to cozy up and hibernate until spring. We have a few ideas that will have you dashing out into this snowy wonderland. So let’s bundle up, pack some cocoa, and head outside to enjoy the most magical time of the year.

Sloan’s Christmas Tree Market

Is that boxed tree passed down from your great grandmother looking a little beyond its years? Maybe this is the year to take the leap and cut your own Christmas tree. But if you aren’t ready for that type of tree commitment, Sloan’s has so much more to offer for the whole family. Get ready for a full day of fun and adventure, and maybe you just might find a new annual tradition.

Christmas Tree Lights in Sarnia

Are you a little disappointed that your house isn’t lit up like the Griswold’s? It’s alright, we feel the same. If you want to feel that magic and get into the holiday spirit, bundle up and take the family to see the beautiful lights along the waterfront on Front Street in Sarnia (Centennial Park). The lights will be on from 5pm until midnight, now until January 1st.

Santa Claus Parade

Never lose the joy of seeing Santa. Come celebrate the magic December 1st. The parade starts at 6pm from Exmouth at Christina St. The parade will follow along Christina Street arriving at the Library by 7pm. Pack a lawn chair, some hot cocoa, and fuzzy socks.

Skating Outdoors

Ever want to feel the cool breeze on your face as you skate a blazing 10km/hr? Make that dream come true; pack the family up for a bit of a road trip and enjoy some hot cocoa and beaver tails while skating on a frozen Niagara Lake. If you feel like making a full weekend of it head up to Ottawa to skate on the Rideau Canal. Don’t own skates? Fear not, there are rentals available.
