Amanda lives with her family in Strathroy. She and her husband, Derek, decided to move back to Strathroy to raise their two boys, Quinten and Harrison, because of the positive community experiences she had while growing up there. And she was involved in the industry from the very beginning – her father operated Donahue & Donahue (then Donahue-Kok) insurance brokerages for over 25 years. Not many 12-year olds could tell you what a deductible was, never mind how it worked!
Since officially beginning her insurance career in 2003, she used her underwriting skills for companies like AXA, Intact, Town and Country Mutual and Lambton Mutual, which also gives her a unique insight into both the consumer and corporate side of things.
In December 2016, she achieved her updated RIBO license and joined the customer-focused sales team at Ontario West Insurance Brokers. Amanda thinks it’s super-cool that she gets to still work with Lambton Mutual while she starts helping other moms and dads in Strathroy and also because she has more time to make pancakes before school.

Ontario West Insurance Brokers is involved in Toys for Tots, Jessie’s Journey, Children’s Miracle Network, Ride for Heart (Heart and Stroke) and Breast Cancer Awareness, and has sponsored many children’s sports teams in the community, including soccer, figure skating and hockey.
